The Old Testament prophets hated the Goddess-worshippers of Canaan and the sexual freedom they embodied. For over a millennium they dedicated themselves to the annihilation of the Goddess and Her people, through atrocities they considered divinely sanctioned. And the only history we have was written by the victors.

Who were these women the prophets so demonized, whose suffering was ignored in the exultant records of their destruction? What strengths did they call upon to survive such hatred? What did they believe, and how did they worship?

 

This book re-imagines the foundation documents of Christianity and Judaism from the perspective of the women whose reverence for love so threatened the Israelite god. It sheds a heartbreaking light on the riches we lost when the Goddess of Love and Her culture were wiped out.
